The position of City Secretary is a statutory position required by State law. The City Secretary is appointed by the City Council and serves as a department head and city officer. In addition to statutory duties of the position, the City Secretary is responsible for other duties, including, but not limited to the following:
- Providing executive leadership, direction, and management of the City Secretary’s Office, Municipal Court, and Utility Billing/Permits.
- Providing secretarial/administrative support to the Mayor, City Council, City Administrator, Assistant City Administrator and Director of Community Services and Development.
- Performs functions and duties of Municipal Clerk, Records Management Officer, Elections Administrator, Human Resources Coordinator and Payroll Administrator
- Performs other duties as required.
Ms. Karen Fuller serves as the City Secretary for Grandview. Karen was born and raised in Cleburne. She was hired by the city to serve as an administrative assistant in 2016.
Ms. Fuller brings over 30 years of banking experience and nine (9) years of city government experience to the position. She is no stranger to the City of Grandview, she worked at the Grandview State Bank in the early 80’s where she began her career in the Banking Industry.
Karen is so grateful to be back in Grandview and to be a part of the growth that we are experiencing. She has been a welcome addition to the team.
When not at work, Karen enjoys the outdoors, working in the yard and being around family.
