Grandview's City Secretary

 Shannon Pruitt

Shannon was appointed City Secretary for the City of Grandview by the City Council in July 2022.  Prior to her appointment, she served as the Water/Permit clerk since 2018.  Shannon came to Grandview from a special utility district, where she served as a customer service representative for 12 1/2 years.
 When Shannon isn't working, she enjoys camping and spending time with family.

The position of City Secretary is a statutory position required by State law. The City Secretary is appointed by the City Manager and serves as a department head. 

In addition to statutory duties of the position, the City Secretary is responsible for other duties, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Providing executive leadership, direction, and management of the City Secretary’s Office, Municipal Court, and Utility Billing/Permits. 
  • Providing secretarial/administrative support to the Mayor, City Council and City Manager. 
  • Performs functions and duties of Municipal Clerk, Records Management Officer, Elections Administrator, Human Resources Coordinator and Payroll Administrator 
  • Performs other duties as required.
