Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued an executive order for all of Texas.

In the executive order, Governor Abbott advised the following:

1. Every person in Texas shall avoid social gatherings in groups more than 10 persons.

2. People should avoid bars, restaurants, food courts or visiting gyms. There will be no dining in bars and restaurants and gyms will be closed. He emphasized drive-throughs, pick up and delivery options were allowed and highly encouraged.

3. People shall not visit nursing homes, retirement centers or long-term care facilities unless to provide critical assistance.

4. All schools in the State of Texas shall be temporarily closed.

The executive order will go in effect at midnight Friday, March 20, 2020 through April 3, 2020, but may be extended.

Governor Abbott emphasized the executive order is NOT a shelter in place order and does not prohibit people from moving about and handling their business as they usually do.

The City of Grandview would strongly recommend citizens support our local businesses during this difficult time.
